Let me count the ways why falling into forbidden love is not my wisest move…

1. She works with me every single day.

Did I mention she's gorgeous, sweet, kind and smart?

2. She works in my home.

Playing with my five-year-old daughter. Teaching my little girl. Cooking for my princess. Which means…

3. She's the nanny.

And that makes her completely off-limits…But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her. All of her.

☆☆☆

The other nannies in this city don't call him the Sexy One for nothing. My boss, the amazingly wonderful single father to the girl I take care of every day is ridiculously hot, like movie star levels with those arms, and those eyes, and that body. Not to mention, the way he dotes on his little girl melts me all over. But what really makes my knees weak are the times when his gaze lingers on me. In secret. When no one else is around.

I can't risk my job for a chance at something more…can I? But I don’t know how to resist him much longer either…

The audiobook will release the same day as the eBook on October 17th and will be narrated by Sebastian York and Andi Arndt!

Perfect Chaos
Unyielding #1

by

Nashoda Rose

Holy...what did I just read?
I have been asking myself over the last couple of days why I haven't read this series sooner. No idea, something always came in between. I tell you what though. This author? WICKED talent. Nashoda Rose's Perfect Chaos reminds me a bit of the time when Kristen Ashley was still new to me, only with a lot more suspense.

This story packs a one-two punch right at the beginning. Georgie is 16 when she receives a message nobody wants to get. Her brother, who is an army soldier, died on a deployment abroad. The person delivering the message is her brother's best friend Deck. Georgie's demons were born the day she learned about her brother's death.

Deck has to go back to his team and the next two years he is pretty much out of the picture. He keeps tabs on Georgie though and isn't happy with reports about her reckless behaviour. Booze, partying hard and the occasional hook up seem to be her choice of drugs to kill the emotional pain. Deck and his men have their hands full to keep Georgie out of the worst trouble. But something doesn't sit right with him, his gut tells him that things aren't what they seem. He is done watching the girl he promised to protect destroying herself, and he is done with the lies she keeps telling him.

But there was a small part of me that wanted him to see me. Instead, he believed in the lie I'd become. How could he think I was that drunk girl who wasted her life away?

These two are perfection. Deck is a super-alpha, bossy, demanding, controlling, obsessively possessive and sex-on-legs. He is unrelenting when it comes to protect what he considers his and even though Georgie is a wildcard to him at the best of times she belongs to him. Georgie is off limits to him and he is unrelenting in this regard as well. Until he isn't any longer. When he makes up his mind to act on his feelings he doesn't f*ck around. And from here on we get to see the gentle and sweet Deck. His flavor of sweet still isn't soft though, he is a badass even in his love for Georgie. I loved this side of him. I also loved how Deck and Georgie just knew that they were IT for each other. No doubt, not a second.

Then he kissed me and I was lost to the most soul-touching kiss a woman could ever have. It was filled with years of need and want and never being able to take. It was him and me finding our peace together. It was our demons being joined and burned to ash.

Georgie is a hot mess. Or so she wants us to think. She holds on to her secrets, protecting what's hers with her life and yes, she considers Deck hers and has done so since she met him. Her sass with Deck is hilarious although the feeling that her wild side is a facade arises very soon. She also has a sweet and vulnerable side to her which she covers up with snark. Georgie shows strength and intelligence throughout the story, the depth and danger of her secrets are surprising.

The plot twists in this story gave me whiplash. There is a lot of betrayal, darkness, secrets, lies and heartbreak. I had one small niggle I don't want to divulge since that would be a major spoiler. It is, however, the reason it's only almost a 5 star read. The steam was hot as hell and Georgie and Deck are like bunnies on speed. There is no holding back once they get their hands on each other.

"Going to fuck you now" I smiled. "Okay." "Wasn't asking"

A couple of words about the secondary characters? Kai. Oh.My.God. He is a mystery I can't wait to uncover. Delicious, cocky, charming. Tristan is another one of those enigmas that leave you wanting more. Deck's guys? Hilarious and crazy. Despite the side characters not being the focus of the story you get a very good idea about their respective traits, they are pretty well fleshed out for not having the spotlight.

This story draws you in and drags you through every emotion on the spectrum. Grief, love, fun, heartbreak, anger, insecurity...you name it, it's there. I LOVED every word in this story.

I wouldn't yield to anyone.
But I did.
I yielded to Georgie.
I'd let her seep into my veins and take hold, and no matter how many men I killed or women I fucked. I couldn't get her out of me.

Broken Prince
The Royals #2
by
Erin Watt

God. I'm so screwed. This series has me in its grip and tickles and squeezes emotions out of me I didn't know I still had. These Royals slayed me and put me back together only to have me destroyed yet again. This book is a whole new level of awesome, I think it might even get its own zip code. As my friend Lana so aptly stated: "Welcome to the addiction! LMAO!" Well thanks, woman, you and Christie have ruined me too and I love you for it.

I may refer to events that happened in the Paper Princess so if you haven't DEVOURED it yet I urge you to stop reading here.

I think most of us who read adult literature would agree that we don't read YA. There is too much unnecessary drama. Even so, this book has a boatload of drama and we still fell hard for this family. I think we all can also agree that the killer cliffhanger at the end of book 1 ripped our hearts out. Fear not, Broken Prince will satisfy most of your question marks and turn them in exclamation marks. But be aware that you will get a whole box of new questions.

While Paper Princess was written in Ella's voice this one has a dual POV which made Broken Prince so much deeper and even more emotional. We get to see events from book 1 through Reed's eyes, it makes some of them so much more significant in hindsight.

The undeniable attraction between Ella and Reed comes to full bloom and they add a lot of depth and growth to their relationship. Until then, though, it's emotions galore because our sweet girl still doesn't roll over. Reed has to bring out the big guns to win back Ella's trust. And let me tell you, she holds a mean grudge. I had to consciously unclench my muscles from anxiety.

“He told me to stay away. He told me I didn’t belong. If only I’d listened to him.”
Reed is a wonderfully broken hero who finds his equal in Ella. These two are so alike despite the completely opposing environments they grew up in. Reed's remorse is beautiful to watch, the honesty in it is heartbreaking. Ella's struggle to not fall for his half truths is real. There is an inherent loneliness to her that only Reed can banish.

"Sometimes I forget that he's got a heart that is as fragile as mine"

The lies, deception and distrust are the common denominators in all things Royal. They are the reason for their fights but also for their strong bonds. And if you thought there were many lies and deceptions in PP...you ain't seen nothing yet. There are layers upon layers of them and it's no surprise that the Royal family bonds are challenged.

“She’s the best thing to happen to the Royals in a long time.”

I adored every word, every letter in Broken Prince. I loved the secondary characters even though I hated some of them but there is so much substance to them that, even though you might despise them, in your deepest depths you might find a tiny grain of understanding for them. Ella and Reed have made my "favorite couples ever" list. I loved them hard.

How I will survive until October I have no idea. The way these Royals ruin us all is amazing and mind boggling. Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick have created a world that speaks to me on a visceral level that I haven't found often in books. I can't recommend The Royals enough.

His Royal Secret

His Royal Secret #1

by

Lilah Pace

Can you imagine a monarchy with a gay crown prince or king? All the repercussions and consequences this would have? This story barely scratches the surface but even with what we learn here it would already be an unmanageable pile of things you would never have considered in your wildest dreams. Political consequences, social consequences, and the unpredictable effects a gay monarch would have, including not having a direct successor.

James is the fictional crown prince of Great Britain. His secret is only known to a handful of people, not even his family knows that he is gay. His best friend is his beard and she has played along for 10 years. During a visit in Kenya his security deems it safe for him to roam the resort on his own so that's what he does. He runs into a mysterious stranger and James is intrigued.

To say that Ben is surprised when the crown prince seeks shelter from the pouring rain, in the house he has rented for his vacation, would be an understatement. He invites the prince to a game of chess and, to spice things up, their stakes are secrets. Personal, private secrets. The air is electric between them and Ben quickly realizes that His Royal Highness is gay.

At chess mate they give in to their electric chemistry and James allows himself the adventure of having Ben as a lover for a couple of hours, knowing it will be a one-timer. When it's time to leave, James finds out that Ben is a journalist of all people. Will this man keep the crown prince's secret? Or will he make it known to the world and push the monarchy in an unknown crisis?

Let's talk characters. I loved James. Period. He is this gentle yet fierce and strong-willed good man who you want as a ruler. He is loyal, understanding and tries to do right by everyone. He has a sweet sense of humor and is loyal to a fault. The way he treats his fellow man is plain amazing. To counter the sweet there is Ben. I struggled with him half of the the story. I didn't like him very much. He is constantly irritated with James and his feelings for the crown prince. He also isn't very understanding that James wouldn't be able to come out until he is confronted with a reality check. I ended up adoring them together though, so Ben did pull his head out of his ass.
Cassandra, James' best friend is a shining light and I loved her spirit to bits. Opposite of her is Indigo, the crown prince's sister, who is deeply troubled, yet supportive of him.

The relationship develops at a realistic pace. They start out as sex partners and grow into friends before feelings are even considered. All this considered, why not 4 stars? The story itself was rather slow in the beginning. I kept spacing out and had to re-read paragraphs, and it was not because I had so much on my mind. I just wasn't in it. Once things started happening I really loved the story. The other issue was Ben. He wasn't very likable half of the book and I *want* to like my main characters.

Lilah Pace is a new-to-me author. Her writing style is flawless and fluid and I do think that there rests one hell of a talent in her. The end of the book is kind of tied up but still has a small-ish cliffy which compells me to read the next book.

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

Fuck this.
I stalked forward.
My hand came up.
The urge to soothe her catapulted my fingers to her cheek. My skin erupted from her delicate heat. I’d already had my single touch when I’d petted her hair. I wasn’t permitted a second.
But it didn’t stop me.
One second, she stood close, arching her chin at the door.
The next, she was across the cage, flying into a stack of boxes that tumbled in a clatter of butcher knives, butter knives, and sharp forks.
Her eyes turned luminous in the gloom, locking on mine with rage.
Shit.
I’d forgotten myself by feeling sorry for this beaten wraith, but she hadn’t forgotten her overwhelming hatred of men.
I didn’t look away. But I didn’t explain myself, either.
I’d borrowed her for the night. If I wanted to touch her, I could. The fact that she’d leapt away meant I could report her to her master and have her punished.
Or you could punish her instead.
The distance between us grew thicker as we breathed fast.
I waited…wanting to know just how deep her education in pleasure flowed. Tearing her gaze from mine, she swallowed hard. Piece by piece, she hid her loathing, replacing it with reluctant acceptance.
Inching closer, her toes nudged aside sharp blades as she made her way to me and fell to her knees on the cold concrete.
Half of me jolted with insane lust. Most of me shied away with repulsion as her straggly hair covered her face but not before I saw the twisted disgust and echoing despair.
“Get up,” I murmured. Even though my voice was low, the cavern of the garage amplified it, layering it with bite.
Instantly, she swooped up. The crackle of her joints and misused cartilage in her bones sounded like tiny gunfire.
“Don’t kneel. Not in here.”

Tristan Prescott is everything Alex is trying to avoid. A seemingly egotistical, lazy, rich jerk, she dumps her beer on his head when he comes on to her one night at a party. This only spurs Tristan into action. He loves nothing more than a challenge. And the beautiful Alex is exactly the type of challenge that intrigues him.

Despite her reluctance, Alex finds herself quickly involved with Tristan. Underneath that playboy exterior is a good guy, a sweet and sexy guy who she is undoubtedly falling for. What they both don’t realize is the actions of Alex’s parents are the reason for so much tragedy in Tristan’s family. And when Tristan discovers who Alex and her family really is, can he forgive and forget?

Stroked

Stroked #1

 by

Megan Quinn

My love for the quirky humor and sweet story of Hustler by Meghan Quinn & Jessica Prince had me excited for this one. The premise of a hot swimmer who has earned himself the moniker of The Silver Stroke because he can't win an Olympic gold medal for the life of him? Count me in! So why only 3 stars? I'll explain.

Reese has been a swimmer since he was a teenager. He was an Olympic contender twice and while he managed to win many silver medals he never made it to the top. These next games are going to be his last ones, his last chance to take home gold. Of course his concerns are about his future, what's after his athletic career? His agent comes up with the idea to secure his future by getting into a fake-relationship with a reality show star, Bellini.

Paisley is a sound engineer who made a carrier-ending mistake when she didn't turn off a microphone she was supposed to mute. She misses her job and wants to get back into the industry in Hollywood. Her best friend helps her to get her foot back in the door when he manages to get her hired for an assistant position for a reality show talent.

When Reese lays eyes  on Paisley for the first time all he can think about is how lovely and beautiful this girl is, who is supposed to be his and his fake-girlfriend's assistant. Paisley can't mess her chance up so she musters every bit of strength to resist this gorgeous and kind guy with the interesting tattoo. How long will she be able to keep him at arms length?

Reese and Paisley were both likeable main characters. Reese the jealous, a bit edgy, possessive alpha-guy with a sweet side and a funny sense of humor, Paisley an adorable heroine with a few contradictions. She could be completely awkward around Reese and the next time she was self confident. The sexual chemistry between our main characters was  off-the-charts hot. Reese was a dirty talker alright and his sweet cuddly side was unexpected.

I had a major problem with reading Bellini's point of view. It was a self-praise fest about her beauty, greatness, kindness and superiority. In her POVs she not only praises herself, she degrades the people in her environment, talks down to them and is generally an extremely hateful secondary character. She also has the habit of giving people weird names. Now, I usualy wouldn't mind a counter part to the sweetness of a lovestory but in my humble opinion it was overdone. I didn't see the point of hearing Bellini's voice, it distracted from the story. It did nothing to enhance the journey of Paisley and Reese and I started to skip Bellini's chapters.

The story generally trickled along the first two thirds of the book without major ups and downs (except my irritation with Bellini) and would have profited from less Bellini and actually more story. As it is it these chapters felt more like fillers than anything else. The pace of the last third was more to my liking and it picked up then and made it still an enjoyable read. The quirky sense of humor I liked in Hustler is present as well and I had a couple of laugh-out-loud moments, yet that wasn't enough to wow me.

I am convinced that Meghan Quinn can do better, the secondary characters were interesting and I'm sure if this author issues a gag order on Bellini I'll be picking up the next in the series as well!

ACED

ELLA FRANK & BROOKE BLAINE

Release Date: July 11th
Genre: Contemporary Romance M/M

Synopsis:

Ace Locke is Hollywood’s hottest action hero. Women across the globe fling their panties in his direction, but Ace isn’t interested in those—he’s more of a boxer briefs kind of guy. Specifically, those of the nearly naked male model on a billboard he drives past every day.

Though he recently made headlines for his public coming out, Ace is wary about pursuing a relationship, fearing what the court of public opinion will do to his career. But there’s something in the model’s expression that intrigues him and has him wondering what if? Dylan Prescott just scored his biggest modeling campaign yet. One that has him plastered all over L.A. in not much more than what he was born with. And when he’s cast in Ace’s latest blockbuster, it puts him in close proximity to his ultimate fantasy. Outwardly confident, Dylan has no problem with his sexuality or his pretty-boy looks, and uses both to his advantage to get what he wants. And what he wants is the impossible—Ace Locke.
From Ella Frank’s Sunset Cove series and Brooke Blaine’s L.A. Liaisons series comes a scorchingly hot novel that blends humor, passion, and romance. What happens when these two worlds collide?

Excerpt

“WAS THIS YOUR plan?” he asked, his voice low and husky. “Invite me over…get me in your bedroom…”
My racing heart could’ve answered that question for him it was beating so hard, and I almost wished it would, since being this close had every thought fleeing my brain. Especially when he leaned in like he was going to whisper in my ear, his words a silky breath across my chin.
“What happens next?” Dylan fingered the buckle of my belt, and I immediately reached down to still his hand.
“Hang on a second,” I said, and could feel my chest tightening at what he was implying. Jesus, I wanted this so bad, wanted him so bad, yet at the same time I was utterly terrified.
“No,” Dylan said, removing his hand from mine. I caught my breath as he slid his finger over the buckle once again. “Not this time. You have a nasty habit of starting things and never quite finishing them, Ace Locke.”
His teasing tone made me want to kiss the smirk off his face, but I was caught between all the things I wanted to do and everything I’d always held myself back from.
“Kind of like yesterday in your car. You corner me somewhere and then seem to think better of it.” As Dylan angled his head to the side, he slipped his fingers behind the buckle and took a step backward. “Why is that?”
His fingers had frozen in place, and I knew if I wanted anything else beyond this to happen, I needed to say something—and fast. So I said the first thing that came to mind: “Because you make me fucking forget myself.”
Clearly that answer was more than okay by the man whose fingers had now tightened around the top off my pants, because Dylan continued moving backward, this time drawing me with him until his back was against my bedroom wall and I was crowding him in.
“And this is a bad thing?” he asked, and even in the darkness of the room I knew his eyes were on mine.
“No…” I said, and took in a shaky breath before admitting, “It’s a dangerous thing.”
“So this”—Dylan pulled the end of my belt from its loop—“would be too dangerous.”
I cursed under my breath as he tugged my hips closer, and his other hand went to the side of my neck. His thumb grazed my lower lip, and instantly it took me back to the first time I’d seen him, seen that same thumb brushing against his lip, and I let out a soft moan.
“Just a taste,” he whispered, his head angling toward mine. “That wouldn’t be too dangerous. Right?” He didn’t wait for me to respond before his mouth skimmed the line of my jaw. As I held my breath, he planted light, feathery kisses down my neck, and I had to put a hand on the wall to steady myself.
“I think it’d be very fucking dangerous,” I said, but I didn’t move away. No way in hell was I going anywhere, no matter how many red flags were waving, telling me I was going too far. I wanted this, wanted him, and only the devil himself could drag me away.
Dylan’s lips left my neck and he leaned back to look me in the eye. “So stop me.”
I shook my head. “No.”

Ella Frank:

Ella Frank is the author of the #1 Bestselling Temptation series, including Try, Take, and Trust and is the co-author of the fan-favorite erotic serial, Sex Addict. Her Exquisite series has been praised as “scorching hot!” and “enticingly sexy!” A life-long fan of the romance genre, Ella writes contemporary and erotic fiction and lives with her husband in Portland, OR.

Brooke Blaine:

You could say Brooke Blaine was a book-a-holic from the time she knew how to read; she used to tell her mother that curling up with one at 4 a.m. before elementary school was her 'quiet time.' Not much has changed except for the espresso I.V. pump she now carries around and the size of her onesie pajamas. Brooke enjoys writing sassy contemporary romance, whether in the form of comedy, suspense, or erotica. The latter has scarred her conservative Southern family for life, bless their hearts. If you'd like to get in touch with her, she's easy to find - just keep an ear out for the Rick Astley ringtone that's dominated her cell phone for ten years.

5 DAYDREAM STARS

When I read that the author of my most favorite MM series ever was working on a super-seekrit project with Brooke Blaine I was intrigued. I saw the cover and was sold on it. Yeah, I'm a cover-ho, sue me. Brooke Blaine's series L.A. Liaisons and Ella Frank's Sunset Cove are crossing over in this story so I was super curious about the result. What follows now is an attempt to put my fangirling feelings into words while giving you a spoiler-free review.

Ace Locke is Hollywood's hottest actor. He goes out of his way to drive by a CK billboard ad with a gorgeous model on it. The model is male and in boxer briefs wearing a kickass leather jacket. His breathtakingly good looks make the traffic stop and get Ace's imagination going.
Ace has been out of the closet for a year but shies away from having a meaningful relationship because of the danger the publicity would pose to his career and a potential relationship.

Dylan Prescott is new in Hollywood. He has pocketed his first movie gig after the big campaign he modeled for which brings him into the orbit of the person he has wet dreams about - Ace Locke.
Dylan has no filter whatsoever, is confident, witty, cheeky and easy to talk to. He is the least judgemental person on the planet and along with his beauty he has the "what you see is what you get" personality people seem to flock around. He also goes after what he wants without hesitation and he wants Ace. Their attraction in real life is instant yet Ace is reluctant to give into his growing feelings for this beautiful man.

Ace on the other hand is not as open as Dylan, his vulnerability is what defines his personality and he doesn't let just anyone in. He doesn't give his trust easily but Dylan sneaks past his walls and soon Ace finds himself addicted to the drug that is Dylan. There are surprising little details about these two characters I don't want to give away because finding them out was adorable and while I had already been on their team before those details were what sealed the deal. Ace's and Dylan's banter is hilarious, their personalities, while pretty diverse still cover some major traits.

"You said when we get home tonight. Whose home did you mean?"
I caught his eyes with mine and then said with the utmost sincerity, "Anywhere you are."

These two dance around each other for a while and watching them fall for each other is like unwrapping your favorite candy. Peeling back the wrapper one layer at a time, knowing what it will taste like yet savoring the anticipation of having it on your tongue. And the moment these two let their bodies speak for them is like a sensual explosion. Their chemistry is off the charts. Fair warning: have a second pair of panties ready. There is something insanely HOT about these two guys hitting it off, getting their MM-mojo on and bro-talking their way into bed.

If falling in love was the single scariest act a person could make, then I was ready to take that leap.

This author duo does an amazing job of co-writing, they are in tune and I could only guess what was written by Brooke Blaine and what by Ella Frank. They blend their styles together to one and make this story a fluid reading experience. I got a kick out of seeing characters from Ella Frank's other books pop in and I will definitely read Brooke Blaine's L.A. Liaisons soon!
